Steinberger Construction, Inc. partnered with the Carroll County Redevelopment Commission earlier today, Friday, July 12 to break ground on a 50,000-square-foot expandable speculative shell building in the Hoosier Heartland Industrial Park.

Carroll County leaders have officially broken ground for the building that is to be constructed to meet the critical need for pre-existing industrial space in the region, the partners of the project stated. Once the building is under construction, the contractors and leaders stated that the completed project should be seen by the Carroll County community around 9-months later. Steinberger Construction, Inc. President Matt Lewellen expressed the business’ enthusiasm with the partnership for the project.

“Steinberger Construction, Inc. is excited to be a partner with Carroll County Redevelopment Commission on the new shell building in its growing industrial park,” Lewellen said. “This 50,000-square-foot precast building, expandable to over 100,000SF, with 32-foot clear height ceiling placed on approximately 10 acres, has the flexibility to accommodate almost any manufacturing, warehouse or logistics firm looking to place or expand their business. Through collaboration with local contractors and the commission, we are able to provide this state-of-the-art building to provide opportunities for continued growth in the region. We look forward to the opening of the building in early 2025, as it will serve its future owner or tenant and the community for generations to come.”

Carroll County Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Jake Adams stated that the corporation plans to market the building to companies who would benefit the Delphi region once construction is completed.

“There are two major factors that companies look for when expanding or locating in a community: speed to market and access to talent,” Adams said. “This investment by the redevelopment Commission coupled with our access to high-quality talent puts Carroll County in the driver’s seat for new investment. With nearly $8 billion dollars in investment announced in Tippecanoe and Howard counties in the last 36 months, Carroll County stands ready to support the growth of the region.”

The almost $5 million Shell Building has been a project through a partnership with Carroll County Economic Development Corporation, Steinberger Construction and F&K Construction.
