A one vehicle crash Friday killed two people in Carroll County on State Road 26 in Sedalia, IN. ISP said the initial investigation revealed that a Rossville Deputy Town Marshal attempted to conduct a traffic stop on State Road 26, but after the vehicle failed to stop, he requested assistance.
Deputy Noah Rainey was on way to assist the Rossville Deputy Town Marshal and driving an issued Carroll County Sheriff’s Department Dodge Charger. He was traveling eastbound on State Road 26 approaching Washington Street when for an unknown reason his vehicle left the road and struck a utility pole.
Indiana State Police said other officers responding to the Rossville Deputy Town Marshal, came upon the crash and began to render medical aid. Despite lifesaving efforts, Deputy Rainey and his passenger, Jail Deputy Dane Northcutt, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
