Carroll County EMA Issues Flooding Alert For Tippecanoe River Area

Carroll County Emergency Management issued a flooding alert for the Tippecanoe River area for residents along the Tippecanoe River for the evening into the overnight.

The department entertained discussions with the National Weather Service of Northern Indiana, NIPSCO representatives and Emergency Managers from White and Carroll counties to assess the risk of flooding in the area, and the team discovered that a significant risk of flooding along the river will be present tonight.

The department released that the anticipated crest at the Buffalo gauge is expected between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. with discharge rates possibly reaching 15,000 cubic-feet-per-second. The influx of discharge rates is expected to cause flooding downstream for residents along the Tippecanoe River.

“Please take necessary precautions to ensure your safety and protect your property,” Carroll County EMA released. “Stay informed and be prepared to act quickly if evacuation becomes necessary.”
