The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce highlighted the various Fourth of July festivities and fireworks displays occurring throughout Carroll County continuing today, July 5 and tomorrow, July 6.
The festivities will kick off on July 5 with fireworks at the Town of Burlington and Camden Park for the community to enjoy prior to the staple Lake Freeman Fireworks.
The festivities continue once again with the Lake Freeman Fireworks Annual Fundraiser on Friday, July 5 at the dockside of the Madam Carroll. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. on July 5 and will feature entertainment by Bruce Barker from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., a golf cart drawing, a 50/50 raffle and food by Sportsman Inn and Combat Cookies. Tickets are available for purchase at lakefreemanfireworks.com, and all proceeds will benefit the fireworks show.
The Lake Freeman festivities continue with the Patriotic Boat Parade on Saturday, July 6 at 10:30 a.m. with boats gathering at the Oakdale Dam. The annual parade is led by the Madam Carroll honoring veterans, and The Hooligan Flight Team will be returning during the parade from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. Community members may register for the boat parade at madamcarroll.com, and prizes will be awarded.
The Lake Freeman activities continue with the 11th Annual Blu 4th of July Volleyball Tournament starting at noon at the Sandbar on Saturday, July 6. At least six players are required per team with a registration fee of $10 per player, money is due before the start of the tournament and half of the funds raised will be awarded to the winning team with the final half being donated to the Lake Freeman Fireworks Fund. The Lake Freeman activities conclude with the 2024 Lake Freeman Fireworks Show beginning Saturday, July 6 at dusk.
