Carroll County Sheriff’s Office Hosts Ribbon Cutting & Open House For New 104-Bed Jail Facility

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office has announced that it will host a ribbon cutting and open house for its new jail facility that will house more inmates with opportunities for better care.

The event will take place at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, March 8 at 6499 W. 100 N. In Delphi. The county is replacing the 42-year-old, 34-bed jail with a new 104-bed modern facility expected to allow for better care for the inmates.

The community is invited to join the department from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 8 to see the inside of the facility before the inmates are moved into the jail. Sheriff Tony Liggett expressed his desire to utilize the bigger space to establish more programs to help with rehabilitation efforts, such as education classes and substance abuse recovery, to better equip the inmates with the skills to thrive outside of the jail.
