The department stated that community members have reported they have received text messages stating that their vehicle has been recorded utilizing the Indiana Toll Road and must pay a balance before a certain date, typically within a few days, to avoid late fees.
The department stated that according to the toll road website, the text messages are a scam, and the website provided in the text does not match the toll road website.
Community members are instructed to not pay any money based on the text and check with the Indiana Toll Road members prior to paying any fees.
