Carroll L. “Smitty” Smith, 85, of Frankfort, passed away May 8, 2026 at Milner Community Healthcare in Rossville. He was born June 12, 1940 in Frankfort to Charles E. and Nina (Pedigo) Smith.
Smitty was a 1958 graduate of Jackson Township High School and worked for Kroger, Mallory, Delco in Kokomo, Payless Supermarket, Main Meat Market, and retired from Frito Lay after 21 years. He is a member of Faith Family Church in Frankfort. Smitty loved word searches.
Surviving are his son: Ryan A. Hunter of Lafayette, foster son: Jerry Brantner of Frankfort, sister: Marilyn Davis of Thorntown, and foster sister: Fran Stotler.
He was preceded in death by his parents, foster parents: Liz and Melvin Stotler, sisters: Beverly Michaels, Jerry Squires, and Barb Merrill, brothers: Stanley Smith, Max Smith, Fred Stotler, Scott Stotler, and Dick Stotler, foster sisters: Roxy Sparks and Opal Walls.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026 at Green Lawn Memorial Park, Frankfort. Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S.
