CC Youth Theatre Announces New Year

The Friends of the Frankfort Community Public Library announce audition opportunities for the Clinton County Youth Theatre 2023 Winter Play, Sideways Stories from Wayside School, on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 28-29, at the Frankfort Community Public Library.

The Clinton County Youth Theatre is preparing for its 2023 season by hosting auditions for Sideways Stories from Wayside School, “a play adapted from Louis Sachar’s Wayside School novels adapted for the stage by John Olive”. Auditions are in the Lower Level Meeting Room at the Frankfort Community Public Library on Fri.-Sat., Oct. 28-29, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Audition slots are 10 minutes long and up to two students may perform together. Try-outs are open to youth ages 8-18 and audition packets are available at the FCPL Teen Desk. Performance dates for the Winter Play are set for Thurs.-Sat., January 26-28, 2023 in the Skanta Theatre.

Clinton County Youth Theatre is grateful for the help from Julie Doan Baumann in finding a new leader for this production, Kennedy Houser. Kennedy is a graduate of Rossville High School and currently attends St. Elizabeth School of Nursing. She has significant theatre experience and training with Rossville’s Theatre department, Clinton County Youth Theatre, and many years in dance learning jazz, hip-hop, ballet, and pointe. Houser is talented and sure to be an asset to the organization.

Productions like Sideways Stories from Wayside School are beneficial for everyone in our community and expensive to conduct. Sponsorships from local businesses are what make Clinton County Youth Theatre possible.  Since our last production included five sold-out performances, sponsors with CCYT benefited from a huge audience exposed to their business. This year, all new tiers are available to sponsors including an annual executive producer opportunity.
