The Clinton County Youth Theatre & the Friends of the Frankfort Public Library announce audition opportunities for the 2018 Winter Play, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory based on the book by Roald Dahl and dramatized by Richard R. George.
Auditions for the next CCYT production will be held at the Frankfort Community Public Library on Saturday, Oct 6 from noon to 5 p.m., as well as, Monday and Thursday, Oct 8 and 11, from 5-8 p.m. Try-outs are open to youth ages 8-18 and audition packets are available at the FCPL Teen Desk. New opportunities abound for those who wish to participate in this play; there are now packets available for crewmember roles specializing in lighting and set design, as well as, a student director.
The production will be co-directed by Anthony Bacon and Adam Nichols. Bacon is a returning director as he also led CCYT in the past productions of Stuart Little and Wizard of Oz. He explains that he chooses to direct youth theatre because “you never know what is going to happen”. Bacon explains that participation in theatre benefits youth, as it is a confidence booster and a relationship builder.
For more information drop by the Frankfort Community Public Library Teen Dept. or email Anthony at [email protected]. The play is produced by special arrangement with the Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock, Illinois.
