Celebrating The Excellence In Every Story: CSF’s Hot Dog Blog

Article by Madeline Richardson

Each month, CSF Director of Student Achievement Lesley Miller takes a moment to share the stories that define the Community Schools of Frankfort through the Hot Dog Blog. With a passion for storytelling and a deep love for being a Hot Dog, Miller uses the blog as both a point of reflection and a celebration of the people who bring our school community to life. “There are so many great things that happen in our schools each day, and they just don’t always get noticed,” Miller explains.

Each year, Miller chooses a theme to guide her writing. In past years, she has highlighted why teachers and students matter, ensuring that their contributions are recognized and celebrated. “I just wanted to make sure everyone knows that every single person plays a critical role in our school community,” Miller explains. Whether she’s sharing reflections on meaningful events, showcasing student achievements, or recognizing dedicated staff, her goal is always to uplift and connect. This year, her focus is on positivity, using the blog each month to “celebrate” different aspects of the work that goes on in the district. “I try to tell the stories you may not normally hear, highlight the work of students and staff, and just help others to peel back another layer as to what goes on in our schools on a day-to-day basis,” Miller says.

For Miller, inspiration comes from listening, observing, and uncovering the moments that define what’s at the heart of CSF. “I try to make the blog posts a story that relates to those reading it,” she shares. By weaving personal insights into each post, she adds a human element that connects with her audience. At its core, the Hot Dog Blog is more than just a district news source — it serves as a reminder that every student, teacher, and staff member matters, and their stories deserve to be told. As Miller puts it, “In the end, we are all just people doing our best to help other people do their best.”
