Charles Joseph “Joe” Day, 70, of rural Frankfort, died April 16, 2020 at his home. He was born February 27, 1950 in Kissimmee, Florida to Charles Louis Day and Maggie Irene (Arnold) Sexton. His partner in life was Peggy (Martin) Day and she survives.
Joe attended St. Mary’s Catholic School. He worked at TRW in Lafayette for 32 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the 11th Armored Cavalry Black Horse Regiment. Joe enjoyed fishing, hunting, his houseboat and loved his two dogs, Snow and Ruby.
He is survived by: 2 Daughters: Angela ‘Angie’ (Brad) Keller of Lafayette, Monica (Jason) Stevens of Arkansas, 3 Sons: James ‘Jamie’ (Tamara) Day of Minnesota, Charles ‘Joey’ (Mandy) Day of Attica, Michael ‘Mikey’ (Amanda) Day of Sheridan, 2 Brothers: James (Deanna) Day of Frankfort and John (Susan) Day of Alligator Point, FL, 2 Sisters: Judy (Ronnie) Newbold of Kokomo, Teresa (Howard) Norris of Frankfort, 3 Step-Sisters: Connie Henning of Georgia, Sheri Kirk of Ohio, Birdie Kirk of Delphos, OH, 15 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by stepdad, Charles D. ‘Chub’ Sexton and step-mother, Lois Day
Funeral Celebration:
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Burial with Military Honors will be in Bunnell Cemetery.
