Chicago Man With Outstanding Warrants Arrested

On Monday, September 28, a Deputy with the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop for an equipment violation on a vehicle traveling westbound on State Road 28.  During the investigation, it was determined the subject was providing false information regarding his identity.  Once deputies were able to determine the identity of the driver, it was found that he had several outstanding nationwide extradition warrants for Escape, Resisting Law Enforcement and Weapons violations.

Arrested was 25-year-old Donte Champ of Chicago. He was charged with False Informing, Operator Never Licensed, Possession of Marijuana and other outstanding warrants.

“Once again, our Deputies are out removing violent offenders from our community.  I praise the endless work of our officers to create a safer environment for our citizens!” said Clinton County Sheriff Rich Kelly

Official charges are pending from the Clinton County Prosecutor’s Office.
