Christian Lindenmayer Likely To Make Slow Recovery

Christian Lindenmayer was seriously injured Monday, September 19 while crossing a Norfolk Southern train track in Frankfort, Indiana. Injuries resulting from the accident include required amputation of the left leg below the knee and partial amputation of the right foot.

Christian has started painful physical therapy on Sunday, was lifted from his bed and “able to do 50% by himself” according to Christian’s mom, Chrystal Lindenmayer.  “He is eating by himself, and we are waiting on him to get stronger so we can go to the Rehab Center.”  “He is going to go to a Rehab where the NASCAR Drivers go when they get injured in an accident, so that’s pretty exciting for him,” said Lindenmayer.

Four Frankfort Police Cars respond to serious pedestrian-train accident late Monday afternoon.

Bret Disinger is donating material and services to install an accessible entrance to Christian and Chystal’s home.  This construction work is planned for Thursday, September 29th.

“It’s going to be a long road”said Lindenmayer.  “Christian continues to have painful muscle spasms.  The community of Frankfort has been awesome. They have shown a lot of love and support and that is very humbling.”

A “Go Fund Me Page” has been established for the Lindenmayer family.
