Stick around after the Christmas Parade on December 3 for the Christmas Tree Lighting Festival.
MaryLynn Peter and Tammy Danner have worked tirelessly for over 2 months to make sure this will be a fun-filled event for all ages.
Starting at 4:30 until 6:30, there will be movies and cookie decorating at the Library.
At 6:30 the winner of the coloring contest, along with Mayor Judy Sheets will flip the switch and light up the Christmas Tree located on the east side of the Courthouse.
The Ugly Christmas Sweater contest will then be held at 6:45 at the north side of the Courthouse at the Entertainment trailer. At 7:00, there will be a Flashlight Candy Cane Hunt.
This will be for ages 2-10. The kids will be given their own little flashlight to keep and the winners of 2-5 and 6-10 will win a bicycle.
Goodie Bags will also be handed out throughout the night.
The F.U.N. group will be around from 6:15 dressed as everyone’s favorite Christmas characters entertaining everyone making sure they are have a great time.
During all of these fun activities there will also be inflatable games to play. Penguin bowling, Football toss, Basketball shoot, and more.
There will also be cardboard cutouts for those who want to take selfies placed all along the Courthouse lawn.
Vendors will be set up around the upper sidewalks of the Courthouse to offer up their creations (Perfect for Christmas gifts).
At the Entertainment Trailer, There will be Chrismas music played by Kyle Bruton of Professional Audio. Along with his music, the following will be performing:
5:00 – Frankfort High School Orchestra/Choir
5:30 – Clinton Central Choir
7:00 – Michael Peterson
7:30 – Jackie Blue
Throughout the festival, no one should go hungry. Big Country BBQ, Crabby Mikes and the Guac Box will be set up on the south side of the Courthouse. All offering different choices of food to satisfy even the pickiest eater.
There will also be a little something hanging around (See if you can spot it).
