City Council Votes in Favor of Resolution Allowing Envoy to be BOT Partner

The Frankfort City Council unanimously voted Monday night to make Envoy the company that the city will use for its first ever BOT (Build, Operate, Transfer) project involving both the Frankfort Police Station and Aquatic Center.

“Now, we’ll have a public/private agreement between the city and Envoy to work with us on the projects involving the Aquatic Center and the Police Station,” said Mayor Judy Sheets.

Sheets added Envoy must now get these projects done for the under the not-to-exceed price of $18.5 million.

The Board of Works agreed to the plan set forth by the Frankfort Redevelopment Commission earlier Monday for work to be done on a sidewalk project between Washington Avenue and Washington Street near the Post Office.

“There is a section of sidewalk over there in front of Auto Zone where Washington Avenue comes in and connects there,” said Sheets. “Something has to be done there because according to the plans it was just going to be a curb area that was not going to match up with the sidewalk that was there. It could be a safety issue, it can be an ADA (American Disability Act) or a compliant problem.”

Milestone will do the work on the 92 linear feet project at a cost of $48,600.
