City of Frankfort Awarded Community Crossings Matching Grant From State

City officials received exciting news on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. Governor Holcomb and INDOT awarded Frankfort $464,460.00 from the Community Crossing Matching Grant.

The Community Crossing Matching Grant Program provides funding to cities, towns, and counties across Indiana to make improvements to local roads and bridges. This program is a partnership between the Indiana Department of Transportation and Indiana communities to invest in infrastructure projects that advance economic development, job creation, and local transportation.

“We could not have asked for better news today. This is very exciting for City of Frankfort to receive this grant. We will be able to use over $928,000.00 to pave our city streets in 2022,” says Mayor Judith Sheets. “Thank you Jason Forsythe, Street Superintendent, by continuing to work on the Community Crossing Matching Grants and helping our community.” City officials, including Mayor Sheets and Street Superintendent Jason Forsythe, are now able to start the planning process for when the weather breaks in Spring 2022.
