The City of Frankfort announced an update to community conversations with elected officials and appointed officials within the city government based on Indiana legal precedent.
The city stated that due to a pending legal precedent set in the state of Indiana, city officials, appointed officials, elected officials and employees will no longer be utilizing personal Facebook profiles or Messenger to discuss city business, answer questions or connect with the community.
“While we’ve always valued our direct conversations, it’s essential to adhere to specific guidelines for official city communication to protect our officials and you as citizens,” the city released.
The city further encouraged community members to utilize different channels to stay connected and share their thoughts, such as visiting any non-personal elected official or department Facebook page, the City of Frankfort Facebook page, the general mailbox of the city at [email protected], the City of Frankfort App Connect Frankfort IN or the city website that includes contact information for the different department at frankfort-in.gov.
