The City of Frankfort and the Frankfort Parks Department officially announced the appointment of a new Parks Superintendent and Street Superintendent who were sworn in during last night’s Board of Public Works and Safety meeting.
During the meeting, Ryan Edgar was sworn in as the new Parks Superintendent following the departure of previous Superintendent Joel Tatum.
As well, Brian Killman was sworn in as the new Street Superintendent following the departure of previous Superintendent Jason Forsythe who transitioned to another position in Whitestown.

The City of Frankfort is pleased to announce the appointment of Ryan Edgar as the new Superintendent of the Frankfort Parks Department. During last night’s Board of Public Works meeting, Ryan Edgar was officially sworn into his new role by Mayor Judy Sheets.
Ryan started with the Frankfort Parks Department in November 2024. Since then, he has actively addressed the park system’s critical maintenance and facilities needs. His prior experience and proactive approach will be instrumental in his new leadership role.
In his new role, Ryan will oversee the maintenance, development, and programming of Frankfort’s parks and recreational facilities. This includes managing park staff, developing and implementing strategic plans for park improvements, and working collaboratively with community organizations to enhance recreational opportunities for Frankfort residents.
Mayor Judy Sheets expressed her enthusiasm for Edgar’s appointment: “We are thrilled to welcome Ryan to the City of Frankfort in this new leadership capacity. His dedication to our community and his hands-on experience addressing the needs of our parks since November make him an excellent choice to lead our Parks Department into the future. I am confident that our parks will continue to be vital assets for all our citizens under his leadership.”

The City of Frankfort is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian Killman as the new Superintendent of the Frankfort Street Department. During last night’s Board of Public Works meeting, Mayor Judy Sheets officially swore Brian Killman into his new role.
Brian brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the department’s operations to this leadership position. He served within the Frankfort Street Department for over 10 years, during which time he acquired invaluable knowledge of the city’s infrastructure and a clear vision for its future.
“Brian’s dedication to the Street Department and the City of Frankfort is evident in his years of service,” said Mayor Sheets. “He possesses the experience and innovative thinking necessary to lead the department forward. We are confident in his ability to continue advancing our infrastructure through strategic planning and the pursuit of grant opportunities.”
In his new role, Superintendent Killman will oversee the maintenance and improvement of Frankfort’s streets, sanitation, and other public infrastructure. He is committed to building upon the department’s successes and proactively seeking grants to fund critical projects that will benefit the entire community.
