“This fits into our goal to improve our public parks and trails,” said Mayor Greg Goodnight. “The addition of the fourth dog park provides a needed amenity in the neighborhood.”
The new dog park features new equipment similar to what is in place at the Downtown Dog Park, such as an agility course with a tunnel-run and weaving pole. Fencing and the two-gate entrance is the same as the Downtown Dog Park.
Kokomo Parks Superintendent Torrey Roe is pleased with how the new dog park turned out.
“The development of this underutilized space went smoothly,” Roe said. “Like our other dog parks, the facility at Bon Air Park has the latest equipment and provides a safe, healthy green space for dogs and their owners.”
The pickle ball courts also located at Bon Air Park are also nearing completion, according to Roe.
