The Clinton Central School Corporation has announced it is cancelling school on Friday, November 10, to honor the memory of our retired CCSC teacher and coach, George Gilbert.
Coach Gilbert’s impact on our school community was immeasurable, and we believe that taking this day to pay our respects and attend his funeral services is a fitting tribute.
A recent survey conducted among our staff indicated an overwhelming majority in favor of this decision. The corporation appreciates the understanding and support of our dedicated staff members who participated in the survey.
In light of this school cancellation, we understand that makeup days will be necessary. The current schedule designates makeup days at the end of the school year, starting on May 28, 2024. However, we will review this to ensure it aligns with the most effective and efficient plan.
Furthermore, we would like to inform you that the originally scheduled Veterans Day program, which was set for November 10, has been rescheduled for Monday, November 13. This change allows us to honor our veterans while also giving due respect to Coach Gilbert’s memory.
