The Clinton Central High School girls’ golf team captured the County Golf Tournament championship Saturday at the Frankfort Commons Golf Course.
Central finished with a five-player total of 413, five strokes better than runner-up Rossville, who was second at 418. Clinton Prairie was third at 490. Frankfort participated in the tourney, but also had three golfers competing so they did not qualify for a team score.
Addy Sheets led the way for the Bulldogs with 96, which was good enough for third place overall. Teammate Kailie Burnette was fourth at 97, followed by Yari Figueroa at 109, Kenna Amos 118 and Isabella Hendrickson 138.
Emma Lawson of Rossville took medalist honors. Frankfort’s Sydney Cesare placed second. Frankfort’s other two scores were Emilee Shipley, who finished fifth at 98 and Raelyn Mitchell finished at 116.
Football
Clinton Central scrimmaged against Elwood on Saturday. The Bulldogs open their season on Friday night at Frankfort. Game time is 7 p.m.
