Clinton Central Downs Frontier on Homecoming Night

Sophomore Anthony Ransford rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns to help lead Clinton Central to a 28-6 Homecoming victory over Frontier Friday night in Michigantown.

The victory improved the Bulldogs to 3-1 on the year ahead of Friday night’s home matchup against Taylor. This was also the first for the Bulldogs on their home field since October 21, 2016,

Ransford scored both of his touchdowns in the first half on runs of 3 and 42 yards. Peyton Moore had a 5-yard touchdown run in the second period and added a two-point conversion following Ransford’s second score to give Central a 21-0 lead at intermission.

Quarterback Spencer Smith, who rushed for 82 yards on eight carries, tossed a 20-yard touchdown pass to Ross Cripe in the fourth quarter. Smith was 2 of 2 passing, both caught by Cripe, for 39 yards. Cripe added 51 yards rushing.

Girls’ Volleyball

Frankfort fell to Tri-West in straight sets Wednesday night on the road. Kimee Kingma had 18 kills for the Hot Dogs, while Ashley TImmons had nine kills and Emily Michael seven. Riley Isgrigg had 41 assists, Avery Drew and Chloe Roberts led in digs with 18 and 15, respectively.

Frankfort defeated McCutcheon 198-221 on Senior Night Wednesday at the Frankfort Commons. Katy Benefiel led the way with a 41 followed by Paige Terry with a 49, Sydney Cesare 53 an Emilee Shipley 55.
