Clinton Central Falls To Clinton Prairie In Friday Night Football

Clinton Central played hard for the fallen soldiers Friday night and many students and cheerleaders had their red, white and blue face decorations. However, Clinton Central fell to Clinton Prairie.

A new incentive was introduced tonight by Shan Sheridan and the Chamber of Commerce, A Field trophy designed and put together by Dan Davis, It is a trophy that will travel to the winner between Clinton Central and Clinton Prairie each year. The tubes holding the trophy together are filled with corn which is absolutely what the two county teams are surrounded by (corn fields). Parts of the trophy came from a barn almost 150 years old and the wood was donated by Timeless barns. The trophy includes a metal piece that includes scores between the two county rivals dating back to 1962.
Clinton Prairie won the rights to be the first home for the trophy until next year when the two county teams meet again and fight for the ownership of it.

Clinton Prairie defeated Clinton Central 41-0 in a very defensive game Friday night at Central. While the Bulldogs played very well on the defensive end they just could not get the ball in the end zone while the Gophers had no problem.
