Clinton Central FFA Win Ag Issues State Championship

Members of the State Champion Ag Issues team are Sam Fox, Isaac Archibald, Karson Patton, Harm Smith, Kayla Faulkner and Morgan Young.

Each year the State Association invites the over 12,500 Indiana FFA members to attend a three-day convention of leadership workshops, banquets and trade shows. Outstanding Indiana FFA members are also recognized at the annual State Convention. Winners of the Supervised Agricultural Experiences, top teams and individuals in the State Career Development Events and the four Stars over Indiana are all announced at the state convention. The Hoosier FFA Degree recipients are honored and the coming year’s Indiana FFA State Officers are inducted. It is an exciting and enlightening event that is anxiously anticipated each year. This marked the 90th annual Indiana FFA Convention.

Clinton Central has the following accomplishments at this year’s Convention.

  • State Champion Agriculture Issues team and will represent Indiana at the National FFA Convention this fall.

  • 3rd place: Agriculture Education CDE

  • 4th place: Discovery Ag Issues
    • Lillian Cline, Makenzee Smith, Hailey Orem, Luke Davidson and Sara Parkinson

“I’m very proud of our chapter and their recent successes. I would say this group worked as hard as any over the past three weeks and I’m proud their hard work paid off. To win a district event is a great accomplishment. Then taking that district winner and making the top four is an exciting time and then to win an event and represent your state at the National Convention is the ultimate goal of any member, “ adds Agriculture Teacher and FFA Advisor Roger Carr.

Clinton Central was also honored as a “Gold Emblem” chapter and that will also be sent on to National finals.
