Clinton Central Superintendent Jeremy Fewell and Student Council members Erika Robbins, Luke Davison,
Riley Dellinger,Cole Davison, Macie McQuinn,Troy Smith,
Raelyn Albaugh, and Sara Parkison honored Arbor Day Friday by planting a tree at the Clinton Central Elementary school.

It was chilly and rainy out but they got the tree planted and Jeremy Fewell said this is the first year and will become an annual event.

Arbor Day is honored in all states by planting trees.
The history of Arbor Day sprouted from the mind of a zealous tree lover named Julius Sterling Morton who was known as the Father of Arbor Day after founding the first tree-planting holiday in Nebraska. The first Arbor Day occurred on April 10th, 1872. It is estimated that nearly one million trees were planted on this day according to the Farmers Almanac.
