Clinton County Community Foundation Awards Grants

The Clinton County Community Foundation has awarded $86,886 in competitive grants during the second half of 2019. Combined with the first half total of $308,900, this brings the total of competitive grants awarded to $395,786 for the year.

“When donors give to the Clinton County Community Foundation, they are building endowed funds for use now and in the future,” said Bob Thorley, chairman of the Clinton County Community Foundation Services Committee. “Their gifts support the vital programs and services that Clinton County nonprofits offer.  We are fortunate to live in a community with so many generous people who have the foresight to provide lasting charitable gifts.”

The following nonprofit agencies and programs were awarded grants from community endowment unrestricted funds:

  • $1,000 to the American Red Cross of Central Indiana will be used to purchase smoke alarms and program materials that help families create escape plans and encourages residents to practice fire escape drills and test smoke alarms to prevent home fires.
  • $17,500 to the Clinton County Fair Council provides a match to help complete phase one of a plan to purchase and install three new electronic signs at three key entrances to the Clinton County Fairgrounds. Matching funds will cover the cost of one new LED sign.
  • $44,000 to the Clinton County Family YMCA will be used as a match to update the indoor aquatics filtration system.
  • $20,000 to ONE80 Recovery Resources will be used towards the construction of a substance abuse recovery residence for men in Clinton County.
  • $4,386 to the Town of Michigantown will be used to upgrade to the shelter house at Michigantown’s park.
