Clinton County Could See Accumulating Snow on Saturday

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Special Weather Statement for Clinton County on Saturday afternoon and evening as a quick burst of accumulating snow is expected to hit the area.

A fast moving low pressure system will track through the Ohio Valley late Saturday afternoon and evening. This system will spread a swath of light to occasionally moderate snowfall over a 4 to 6 hour period that late afternoon and evening across much of central Indiana. Light accumulation of 1 to 2 inches with locally higher amounts approaching 3 inches are possible by late tonight, especially north of a Sullivan to Bloomington to Columbus line.

Be prepared for roads and other surfaces to become slick and snow covered late this afternoon and this evening with temperatures falling into the teens overnight in most areas. Any untreated roads will remain slick on Sunday morning.

Snow is possible at times through Monday night with some light accumulations being possible.

Dangerously cold air will move int the area by Tuesday night with below zero temperatures expected. That cold air is expected to be around for at least two or three days.
