Clinton County Jail Inmate Jason Sowers was arrested Friday on a warrant for two counts of Child Solicitation, both Level 5 felonies. The arrest comes after a three-week investigation into inappropriate communications between Sowers and a minor.
Detective Matt Feterick received information about Sowers sending sexually explicit messages to the minor. With assistance from Clinton County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Officers, multiple letters and notebooks full of similar letters to the minor were located in Sowers’ cell that hadn’t yet been sent. Through the course of the investigation, several sexually explicit letters that were received by the minor were able to be recoverd.
Sowers is being held without bond on this case and is expected to appear in court early next week for an initial hearing.
