The Sheriff’s Office released a statement that Ron Stevens, 36 at the time of the warrant issuance, was captured on Feb. 20, 2024, in Iowa after his last known whereabouts were at 7 p.m. on Christmas night in 2021 near the McDonald’s in Frankfort. The initial call for an attempt to locate stated that Stevens was a case of “an escape from work release.”

A case was filed to issue the warrant on Dec. 27, 2021, and through the efforts of Clinton County Deputy Nick Light and the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, he was eventually located and captured in Iowa.
