Clinton County Sheriff’s Office Hosts ‘Women’s Handgun Familiarization Course’ On April 26

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office has announced the upcoming Women’s Handgun Familiarization Course that strives to familiarize local women with firearms through an educational course.

The course will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 26 at the Sheriff’s Office at 301 E. Walnut St. in Frankfort in the public training room.

Participants must be at least 21 years old. A background check will be conducted once they department has received a signed application. Those with an Indiana carry permit should provide a copy along with their completed application. A driver’s license copy must also be submitted at the same time as the application.

Registration may be conducted via email at mknox@clintonco.com or in person at the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office in the administrative office Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Training will consist of classroom and range time.

Participants should bring 150 rounds of ammo along with their own handgun, unloaded, or utilize one of the department’s guns. If utilizing a department gun, participants should bring 150 rounds of ammo for a 22 long rifle.

There is no charge for the course.
