Clinton County Sheriff’s Office Releases Scam Alert

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office has released a scam alert in Clinton County.

A Clinton County business was contacted by a person saying he was a Clinton County Deputy Sheriff of the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office. The caller told them that there was an arrest warrant issued for them for failure to appear in court. The caller directed the conversation towards the business owner’s personal identity. The caller wanted the business to pay money to handle the matter over the phone.

At no time will a Deputy of Clinton County call you on the phone about a warrant. All arrest warrants will be served by a Deputy in person.
