Clinton County Sheriff’s Office Unveils New Uniforms

In the last couple of years, we have seen a trend in Law Enforcement for the inclusion of the tactical police outer vest carrier.  Over the last year, Sheriff Kelly has transitioned the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office “Class B” patrol duty uniform to include a new tactical color scheme of black over green and an outer vest carrier.  The transition is to provide practical advantages to the officers such as comfort, adjustable fit, temperature regulation and weight distribution.

The carrier allows an officer to place equipment where it is easily accessible and off of their duty belt, where many officers experience lower back problems.  Another advantage is cost and color availability.

Sheriff Kelly stated, “The primary goal was to find a safer and healthier style of uniform for our officers.  Having the ability to redistribute the weight of law enforcement equipment from your duty belt to your vest is game changing.  The vest carrier allows us immediate access to additional tools and life saving gear.  It also allows for greater mobility and comfort.  The traditional brown over tan Class A uniform will remain the same and is always an option for the officers if they choose to wear it on patrol.”
