In celebration of Arbor Day and the National Association of Conservation Districts’ Soil and Water Stewardship Week the Clinton County Soil and Water Conservation District will be handing out free tree seedlings.
Two tree species are being offered – Sugar Maple and Redbud tree seedlings – while supplies last. You may pick up a tree seedling April 23-26 at the SWCD office located at the USDA Service Center, 860 S. Prairie Ave., Suite 1, Frankfort, during regular business hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Please bring newspaper (to keep roots moist) and a plastic bag or bucket (to transport). Planting instructions will be provided.
