The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for most of Indiana, including Clinton County, until 10 p.m. Sunday.
Residents and motorists should expect windy conditions across the area today in advance of a cold front that will move through the region this evening. Wind gusts outside of showers and thunderstorms may peak up to 40 mph today. These wind gusts could be strong enough to bring down any weakened tree branches. Drivers in high profile vehicles should exercise caution — especially traveling on east-west oriented roadways.
Besides damaging winds, large hail, heavy rain and lightning is expected.
Besides Clinton, other affected areas are Adams, Allen, Bartholomew, Blackford, Boone, Brown, Carroll, Cass, Clay, Daviess, Decatur, Delaware, DeKalb, Elkhart, Fountain, Fulton, Grant, Greene, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Henry, Howard, Huntington, Jackson, Jay, Jennings, Johnson, Knox, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Madison, Marion, Marshall, Martin, Miami, Monroe, Montgomery, Morgan, Noble, Owen, Parke, Pulaski, Putnam, Randolph, Rush, Shelby, St. Joseph, Starke, Steuben, Sullivan, Tippecanoe, Tipton, Vermillion, Vigo, Wabash, Warren, Wells, White and Whitley.
