The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Winter Storm Watch for much of Central Indiana, including Clinton County, from 5 p.m. Sunday to 7 a.m. Tuesday.
Snow is expected late Sunday afternoon and night, then again late Monday into Monday night. Total snow accumulations by early Tuesday morning of 4 to 6 inches. Minor icing is possible late Sunday night as well, especially south of Interstate 70.
Plan on slippery and snow covered road conditions. The hazardous conditions will likely impact the Monday morning and evening commutes.
Recent trends support snow as the primary precipitation type, but pockets of freezing rain may briefly mix in late Sunday night south of Interstate 70. Be prepared for winter driving conditions Sunday night through Tuesday morning and stay aware of the latest forecast for updated information.
Besides Clinton, other affected areas include Boone, Clay, Delaware, Fountain, Greene, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Henry, Johnson, Madison, Marion, Montgomery, Morgan, Owen, Parke, Putnam, Randolph, Rush, Shelby, Sullivan, Tipton, Vermillion and Vigo.
