Clinton Prairie Educators Earn CF Industries Classroom Minigrants

Thanks to a donation from CF Industries’ Classroom Minigrant Program, students in Clinton Prairie Elementary Schools will:

  • Learn about the life-cycle of insects and woodland animals ;
  • Build a frog, race car or seismograph to explore the process of design
  • Use STEM Learning Kits to gain knowledge about Scientific principles; and
  • Explore Urban Water Quality and Pollution Tracking through technology .

The company partnered with Clinton Prairie School District to provide grants to teachers who incorporate agriculture or the environment in the classroom.                                                                    ·

In all, CF Industries has contributed $3,111 to support projects in the classrooms of the following teachers :

  • Allison Long, Amanda Moore, Annette Neal, Traci Stine, Sherry Stowers, Lisa Miller, Jessica Brovont, Sue Delong, Kreg Stockberger and Dustin Long of Clinton Prairie Elementary

Since the inception of the program, CF Industries has provided nearly $1,000,000 to teachers through the Classroom Minigrant Program. The Frankfort Terminal alone has donated more than $100,000 to date to support public safety, education and youth development organizations in the greater Frankfort community.

“The creativity of teachers always makes me wonder what they will come up with next to help their students learn,” said Eric Bledsoe, Superintendent of CF Industries’ Frankfort Terminal. “The applications are always filled with inspired projects for students.”

CF Industries’ Frankfort Terminal has been a part of the Frankfort community since 1969.  In 2017, the facility and its employees successfully completed more than 17,442 consecutive safe days (nearly 48 years) without a lost time incident.  The terminal, an INOSHA VPP Star Site, continues to safely provide quality plant food nutrients to farm retailers and industrial customers in the region.
