Clinton Prairie Gets Past North White for 15th Victory

Katie Blacker and Emma McKinney each scored 12 points to lead Clinton Prairie past North White 41-34 Tuesday night in Jefferson.

The victory improved the Prairie girls’ basketball team to 15-2 on the season.

Sydney Swan added six points for the Gophers, which outscored North White 26-17 in the middle two quarters. Rebakah Lloyd led the team in rebound with seven, while Tynlie Neal had a team-hgih seven assists.

The junior varsity was also victorious with a 40-36 victory, Prairie jumped out to a 17-5 lead after one quarter and hung on for the win.

Claire Ecenbarger led Prairie with 15 points and six rebounds. Kaitlyn Beck had 10 points and six rebounds and Rylee Ward added nine points. Grace Good had a team-high seven rebounds.

Clinton Central Swimmers Roll Past Elwood

Both the Clinton Central boys’ and girls’ swimming teams won their meet against Elwood Monday night in Jefferson. The boys were victorious 145-32, while the girls won 136-45.

FMS 8th Grade Boys’ Basketball

The Frankfort Middle School boys’ basketball team went on the road and defeated a very competitive Tri-West team 61-51. Currently, the Dogs are leading the conference with a record of 5-0 and an overall record of 15-1.

Jayce Strode led the Hot Dogs with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Kye Kirby had 19 points and five assists, while Edwin Wainscott came in with 10 points and played a strong floor dame. Doug Wood, Aidan Howe and Carlos Lopez led the defense.

The Hot Dogs’ last home game is Thursday against Crawfordsville. Seventh grade tips at 6 p.m. with the eighth grade to follow.

Girls’ Bowling

Frankfort’s Klarissa Pitman made it to the bowling regionals which will be Saturday, January 18, in Crawfordsville at 8:30 a.m,. at Plaza Lanes, 1643 Eastway Drive, Crawfordsville.

Free Throw Contest

All boys and girls ages 9-14 are invited to a basketball free throw contest on Sunday, January 19, at the Boys and Girls Club. Registration starts at noon and the contest begins at 1 p.m.

This contest is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and local winners will represent Frankfort in the district contest with a chance to advance to regional and state contests.
