Clinton Prairie Remains Unbeaten After Friday Night Game

Clinton Central fell to county rival Clinton Prairie Friday night at Prairie 34-0

The Gophers earn the right to keep the “Corn Bowl” trophy which started last year at Clinton Central.

Dan Davis designed and presented the trophy to Clinton Prairie at the end of the game in 2021 when the Gophers defeated the Bulldogs. The trophy now stays at Clinton Prairie until next year or as long as they win and defend their title.

Clinton Central looked as though they might score in the first quarter but fell short when they fumbled the ball close to the goal line. The first quarter ended with no score.

 

The second quarter C.P’s  Cayden Davis  with  a 7 yd run and scored. Extra point attempt was no good. Score 6-0.

Seth Whitlock  scored next with a 2 yd run with extra points attempt denied. score at end of second quarter 12-0.

Third quarter Seth Whitlock    5 yd run scores the touch down
Steven Dunford to Whitlock for the 2 pt pass complete, score 20-0.

In the final quarter Clinton Prairie would score twice more,Steven Dunford to Davis a 24 yd pass, Dunford run in for the two point extra points making the score 28-0.

Final score of the evening was Jacob Wilson with a 1 yd touch down run. 2 pt attempt failed.

Final score 38-0

Clinton Central moves to 0-3.
