Clinton Prairie Shuts Out Clinton Central; Robinson Named Player Of The Game

The Clinton Prairie Gophers used a big third inning to defeat the Clinton Central Bulldogs 11-0 Thursday evening.

Cayden Robinson earned The Farmers Bank Player of the Game for his dominant performance on the mound. The junior threw a complete game shutout, giving up just two hits and striking out five.

The Gophers got contributions up and down the lineup, with five players recording two or more hits.

After two scoreless frames, Clinton Prairie pushed a run across in the third on a wild pitch. The Gophers added three more runs in the fourth, thanks in part to a Wyatt Harshbarger two-run double.

The Gophers turned the intensity up in the fifth, plating seven runs to take an 11-0 lead.

Robinson closed out the game in the fifth to give the Gophers the win.

Clinton Prairie moves to 12-4 with the win, while the Bulldogs fall to 7-7.

The Hoosierland TV Game of the Week next week features the Gophers taking on the Rossville Hornets. Both squads are tied atop the Hoosier Heartland Conference, and both are ranked in the top ten, with the Hornets at #3 and the Gophers at #9.
