The Community Foundation Serving Howard, Clinton and Carroll Counties presented a donation of $12,000 in support of the Community HOPE Program at COACH Kids of Clinton County.

The Community Foundation presented the donation in May for the Community HOPE Program, which serves at-risk youth in the community by pairing them with mentors who are dedicated to establishing a bond beyond the family. COACH Kids Executive Director Katie Schimmel expressed how the funds will benefit the Community HOPE Program to ensure the organization’s continued support of the youth within the community.

“We can not thank the Community Foundation enough,” Schimmel said. “Each and every one of their staff and board members are wonderful individuals who truly care about the community. They continue to fund amazing projects and programs that give back to our community, and we are beyond blessed to be one of those that were selected.”

Community HOPE Program Manager Carl Gingerich echoed Schimmel’s comments, stating that the continued support for the program allows for the mentors and mentees to continue their work and dedication to each other.

“The Community HOPE Program is centered around and supported by the community, and the support from the Community Foundation helps us continue to uplift the community in numerous ways,” Gingerich said. “Their support will ensure that a difference is seen in these young people’s lives through experiences they will never forget.”

The grant was provided by the Clinton County unrestricted grant pool. A complete list of the unrestricted funds that may receive donations is available at cfhoward.org.

The Community HOPE Program is actively seeking mentors for multiple young men and women who wish to form a friendship that will last a lifetime. For more information or to start the process of mentorship, contact Carl Gingerich at [email protected].
