Frankfort Fire Department Local 705 will be hosting a golf scramble at the Frankfort Commons on Monday, June 18. Registration is at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. The scramble will benefit Dick Sheets, Dave Elliot Scholarship Program. The tournament is a 4-man best ball. Cost to play is $60 per player which includes golf, catered lunch by SHoup’s and two drink tickets. Sign up at the Fire Station office at 201 S. Clay St. or by calling 765-654-4329.

 

The Frankfort Farmers Market is happy to announce that it is back for another season on the south side of the square in downtown Frankfort. The market will be open from 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday. If you would like to be involved as a vendor, contact Rick McWhirt in Michigantown.

The 40th Annual Flora Hog Jog will be held Saturday, June 16, at the Flora Community Park. The Hog Jog will include a 10K run, 2-mile run, 2-mile walk and 500-meter run jog for kids age 2-7. This year will be the Inaugural Pork Pull sponsored by the Indiana Pulling League and will feature tractor pulls, truck drags, hot good and ice cream. Action begins at 9 a.m. and runs through the late night.

 

The Purdue Club of Clinton County will host the 2018 C. Benson Hufford Annual Golf Outing on Tuesday, June 19, at Frankfort Commons Golf Course and Arborwood. Registration begins at noon with lunch available at your own expense. 18-hole golf starts at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start. The evening program begins at 5:30 p.m. with registration and cocktails followed by dinner at 6 p.m. The registration deadline is Friday, June 15. The Clinton County Parkview Home at 1501 Burlington Avenue will be having a 100-year celebration on Saturday, June 16, from 1-4 p.m. Bring your blanket and chair for picnic/open house, free giveaways and photo booth; free food (hog roast, hot dogs, hamburgers), local band and games for kids and adults. Donations accepted to benefit residents.

 

The Clinton County Chamber of Commerce presents ‘Dad’s Dash’ on the square in downtown Frankfort from 5:30-8 p.m. on Saturday, June 16. The night before Father’s Day will be exciting on the square with plenty of action. There will be local restaurants with special food deals and plenty of cars for the curious to investigate. The Frankfort Parks Department team kicks off this year’s “Summer Nights” Movie Series on Friday, June 22, with a showing of “Lego Ninjago” at dusk in the Shelter #5 area by the pool. This is the first of four movies to be shown this year. For more information, call 659-3422.

 

The 1972 and 1973 Clinton Prairie High School graduation classes are having their reunions together at Ulen Country Club in Lebanon from 6-10:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 30. Classmates and spouses are encouraged to bring your stories and instruments to entertain and remember. Cost is $32 per person. The Walton Community Fire Department is having a Fourth of July Car Show & Fish Fry. Cars, trucks, motorcycles and anything in-between are all welcome. Parade lineup at noon, parade begins at 2 p.m., registration is 4-6 p.m. and awards is 8:30 p.m. Free fireworks show will be at dark. The Annual Flora First Christian Gospel Fest will be held on July 4 at the Flora Community Park starting at 6 p.m. Come enjoy contemporary Christian music and then stay for the fireworks. This year’s lineup includes Malachi Jaggers, Spirit Move Worship, Jordan Bennett Band, Chaylyn Thompson and Kris Seward. The Flora Community Park is located just off of State Road 18 on the east side of Flora.

 

The INSpace Camp will be held July 23-27 at the Frankfort Municipal Airport from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily for students ages 8-14. 2018 kicks off their newest adventure called Mars Next! The camp will have airplane rides, rocketry, cool projects, special guests, launch to edge of space, prizes and a drone demonstration. Cost is $275 per person.
