Frankfort Commons Golf Course brings to you the Second Annual Frankfort City Tournament on August 11 and 12. Deadline to signup is August 9. Tournament divisions will be: Men — Championship (0-9 handicap); A Flight (9-15 handicap); B Flight (16-23 handicap) and C Flight (23+ handicap). COACH Kids is having a Mentor Orientation and Training session on Saturday, August 11, at 10 a.m. The training is offered once a month and will be held at the COACH Kids Office, 554 W. Walnut St., Frankfort. This is a no pressure opportunity to find out how you can change a kid’s life in as little as 30 minutes a week at school or hours a month in the community. Kirklin Christian Church Fish Fry will be held on Saturday, August 25, from 4-7 p.m. at the church located at 302 E. Jefferson St., Kirklin or two blocks east of U.S. 421 on State Road 38. This is an all-you-can-eat fish along with delicious homemade pies and other desserts with proceeds going to benefit the Evan Faucett Family and the Jaden Quick Family. Tickets are $9 for adults, children age 6-10 are $4 and children under 6 are free.
The American Red Cross is hosting two blood drives later this month in Frankfort. They will be held on Saturday, August 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the St. Vincent Medical Group located at 1201 Oak Street, and the other will be on Tuesday, August 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Ivy Tech Community College at 251 E. The Jobs for Life Initiative is now accepting applications for Jobs for Life students. Classes begin Tuesday, September 18, at 6:30 p.m. at the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 352 West Clinton Street. Classes will continue each Tuesday and Thursday nights through November 8. Applications can be picked up at the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce at 62 North Main Street or the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church. There is no charge to students for attending classes. The Kokomo High School Class of 2008 10-Year Reunion will be held Saturday, August 25, from 6-9 p.m. at Kelley Agricultural Museum in Sharpsville. There will be food and drinks, music and catching up with old friends. Tickets are $25 per person and $40 for a pair.
