Healthy Communities of Clinton County Coalition is sponsoring its Fourth Annual Walking Event on 9/11 “In Honor of All Who Serve”. This event is to recognize and honor the elected officials, firefighters, law enforcement, EMS, active military personnel, veterans, volunteers and individuals who serve our community and our nation. We invite you and members of your organizations to join this event. This event will begin at 4:30 p.m. at Old Stoney. Clinton County Sheriff’s Office employees are encouraged to join the walk there. The walk will go to the Frankfort Police Department, Frankfort Fire Engine Company #2 and the VFW hoping to add “All Who Serve” to the walk. The Frankfort Quilt Guild’s 2018 Quilt Show will be held Friday, September 14, and Saturday, September 15, at the Frankfort Community Public Library from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. The Guild is raffling off a beautiful Dresden Plate quilt and tickets are a $1 each or six for $5. All money from the raffle does to the library. There will also be an exhibit of Rug Hooking. The Delphi Historic Home and Garden Tour is set for Saturday, September 15. Experience this Stellar Community by touring 11 historic Delphi homes and gardens as summer melds into fall. Tour by trolley or by your car following the tour map. Purchase lunch in a box topped by an original Rena Brouwer watercolor suitable for framing. Tour the restored Delphi Opera House. Take in a concert in the evening featuring Linda Hicks and Jazz’N’This. This is co-sponsored by the Delphi Preservation Society and the Delphi Opera House. The Whitestown Parks & Recreation Department and IndianaOnTap.com have announced that the 4th Annual Whitestown Brew Fest will be Saturday, September 15, on the expanded site of the Whitestown Municipal Complex, 6210 Veterans Drive, Whitestown. This event will feature approximately 25 Indiana breweries and wineries and is expected to showcase hundreds of craft beer releases. With the school year now in full swing, the Frankfort Community Public Library is launching Homework Help, a new program intended to help students achieve academic success. The program, which is free and geared for grades 6-12, will be available Monday-Wednesday from 5-6 p.m.,and Thursday from 4-6 p.m. at the Edge in the Frankfort Library. Michigantown Christian Church is having their 15th Annual Harvest of Talents on Saturday, September 15 and Sunday, September 16. The doors open Saturday at 8 a.m. with a bazaar that lasts until 3 p.m. Biscuits & gravy will be served from 8-10 a.m. for a free will offering. Lunch of pulled pork bbq, chili soup and potato soup will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The bazaar will continue at 8 a.m. Sunday, while church is conducted upstairs at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. A chicken and noodle dinner will take from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by an auction at 1 p.m. All money raised will be sent to IDES in Noblesville and be used for feeding programs throughout the world. The Fifth Annual Hoops and Frankfort Sports Club Golf Outing has been rescheduled to Sunday, September 16 at Deer Track Golf Course in Mulberry. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.Register at Hoops Restaurant or COACH Kids. All proceeds to benefit COACH Kids.

 

Kilmore United Methodist Church Fish Fry will be held Tuesday, September 18, from 4:30-7 p.m.at the church located at 4159 N. County Road 0 E/W. This is an all-you-can-eat event. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 6-10 years old and children 5-an-under are free.

 

The Jobs for Life Initiative is now accepting applications for Jobs for Life students. Classes begin Tuesday, September 18, at 6:30 p.m. at the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 352 West Clinton Street. Classes will continue each Tuesday and Thursday nights through November 8. Applications can be picked up at the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce at 62 North Main Street or the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church. There is no charge to students for attending classes. Cornerstone Assembly of God located at 5641 W. Mulberry/Jefferson Rd.,Frankfort, is having a Hog Roast & Car Show on Saturday, September 22, from 4-6 p.m. Car registration starts at 2 p.m. Show registration fee is $10. The Frankfort Community Public Library is presenting its sixth exhibition of photographs from the James Ostler Slide Collection through October 26. This year, they are sharing pictures that were digitized during the first year of the Clinton County: Fun in the ’50s project. Admission is free. For more information, call 654-8746.

 

The Frankfort Community Public Library is holding a Halloween Costume Swap in room 219 on Wednesday, October 3, from 4:30-7:30 p.m. All ages are welcome to attend and participate. The intent of the costume swap is to reuse gently-worn costumes you no longer need or that no longer fit and find a new costume from someone else. For more information, call 654-8746.

The Feast of the Hunters Moon will be held Saturday, October 6, and Sunday, October 7, at Fort Ouiatenon in West Lafayette, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Visitors will savor the food, customs, peoples, transportation, music and commerce of 18th century life on the grounds of the oldest European settlement in Indiana. This event is presented by the Tippecanoe County Historical Association.

 

The Colfax Historical Society Presents the first Hickory Harvest Festival scheduled for Saturday, October 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Colfax-Perry Township Public Library Grounds in Colfawx. There will be Artisan vendors, food vendors, live bluegrass music, demonstrations by Tippecanoe Power and Steam Association, Pioneer Games for kids and a historical hayride through Colfax.

 

The Clinton County Civic Theatre will be holding its first show of their 30th season on October 25-28 in the Skanta Theatre at the Frankfort Community Public Library.
