Thursday Thunder roars back around Veteran’s Park in downtown Frankfort on Thursday, May 2, from 5:30-8 p.m. Lots of great events are being planned for 2019. Thursday Thunder is held the first and third Thursday of each month through September with the exception of Thursday, July 4. Live music will be held on the third Thursday.
The 2019 Spring Fling will held Friday, April 12, and Saturday, April 13, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the 51 West Event Center Vendor Fair. Local small businesses, artists, crafters, photographers and home based businesses.
The St. Mary’s Catholic Church Annual Knights of Columbus Lenten Fish Fry will be every Friday during Lent until April 19 from 4:30-7 at Muller Hall, 600 St. Mary’s Ave., Frankfort. The public is welcome and carry out is available. Cost is $10 for adults and kids 12 and under are $5. Menu consists of Alaskan Pollock Fish (second available), baked potato or fries, slaw, dinner roll and dessert. Clinton Prairie Elementary will be holding a meeting for parents of kindergarten students on Monday, April 8, at 6 p.m. This meeting is for parents only. Russiaville Community Outreach is sponsoring the Russiaville Health and Information Fair on Wednesday, April 10, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Jeff Stout Community Center. There are a total of 17 vendors that have signed up so far. There will also be an opportunity to sign up for some fun classes such as basket making, quilting, wood carving, iPhone set up and usage and basic computer/internet usage. The Boone County Chamber Home & Business Expo will be held on Thursday, April 11, and Friday, April 12, from 4-8 p.m. at the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds, Witham Health Pavilion and Centennial Hall, 1300 E. 100 South, Lebanon. The Clinton County Soil and Water Conservation District are currently recruiting volunteers who will sample stream more than 50 stream sites from 1-4 p.m. on Friday, April 12. The stream assessment will occur as part of the semi-annual Wabash River Enhancement Corporation’s annual sampling blitz and also includes streams in the South Fork Wildcat Watershed throughout Clinton County. The Clinton County 4-H Junior Leaders Dance will be held Friday, April 19 from 7-10 p.m. at the Clinton County Fairgrounds. All 4-H members in grades 7-12 are welcome. The cost is $5 and includes admittance as well as snacks and drinks throughout the evening. Reservations due by April 12.
The Spring Michigantown Lions Breakfast will be held on Saturday, April 13, from 7-10 a.m. at the Michigantown Community Building. Frankfort High School Auxiliary gymnasium is the site for the Third Annual Walk-A-Mile for Autism on Saturday, April 13, from 1-3 p.m. There is no cost for the event. The 67th Annual Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast will be held from 6:30-10 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, at the Clinton County Fairgrounds. The Stepping on Stigma 5K Run/Walk is set for Saturday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Clinton County Fairgrounds. There will be free family activities, prizes, food and participate in the 5K. The Send Silence Packing exhibit will be at the Clinton County Fairgrounds on Tuesday, May 14, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. This exhibit has traveled the country for more than a decade to end the silence that surrounds mental health and suicide and connect visitors with resources for support and action. The Frankfort Optimist Club along with F.U.N. (Frankfort’s Unified Neighborhoods) invites everyone to the Family Fishing Derby at the Frankfort Lagoons on Saturday, May 18. Fishing will be 9 a.m. to noon. Awards will be given for the biggest fish and a free lunch will immediately follow. All ages are welcome and no fishing licenses are required.
This Old Farm is hosting an event on Saturday, May 18, to celebrate local farm and artisan partners.
