Community Foundation Celebrating 25th Anniversary

Since its beginning in November 1996, the Clinton County Community Foundation’s value was evident.

When the Foundation was created that fall, within two months nearly $100,000 had been given locally to support the Foundation.

Now, the organization has reached its 25th year, and the generosity of area donors supporting programs and services for residents in Clinton County, Indiana, remains strong. Since 1996, the Foundation has made grants of more than $11.3 million to help the community be a better place. This amount includes approximately $8.7 million in grants and $2.6 million in scholarships, with an additional $2.8 million in Lilly Endowment Community Scholarships.

As a special way of saying “thank you,” the Foundation will be giving $25,000 to Clinton County nonprofit organizations through a series of $2,500 drawings throughout the year.  This is an important part of the 25th anniversary’s celebration in recognition of nonprofit organizations that are so vital in helping the Foundation connect donors to the resources and causes important to them and the community.

“The Clinton County Community Foundation’s Service Committee members will select a winning nonprofit in a drawing during service committee meetings this year,” said Greg Aaron, president of the Foundation. “Numbers will be assigned to each nonprofit so the drawing will be random. Each drawing’s outcome will be a surprise to everyone.  As our community progresses towards recovery from COVID-19, we hope this will be an unexpected boost for our nonprofits that have worked so diligently during the pandemic.”

“This is a great way to celebrate the Clinton County Community Foundation and the value it provides for our community,” said Alicia Albertson, chair of the Foundation’s Service Committee. “The $25,000 in support of nonprofit organizations is a way to share our excitement and emphasize the strength of philanthropy in the community. We could never have reached this 25-year milestone without the donors and the partner organizations working with us.”
