Community Invited to Attend Carl Koontz Memorial Carnival at Western High School

Community members are invited to gather for a day of remembrance, education, and family fun during the Carl Koontz Memorial Carnival this Saturday.

The event will take place Saturday, March 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Western High School, bringing together local first responders, organizations, and families to honor the legacy of Carl Koontz, who was killed in the line of duty.

The carnival will feature a wide range of activities and demonstrations throughout the day. Attendees will have the opportunity to see presentations from the Howard County Sheriff’s Department, including K9 unit demonstrations, drone displays, and a look at specialized equipment such as SWAT vehicles. The event is designed to give the public a closer look at the work of local law enforcement and first responders.

In addition to demonstrations, the carnival will include games, raffles, food trucks, and family-friendly activities aimed at bringing the community together while supporting an important cause connected to Officer Koontz’s memory.

Several local businesses will also be participating in the event, including Fire Pizza Russiaville, which will have a booth on-site during the festivities.
