Community Schools of Frankfort Board Takes Next Step in Marsh Building Project

The Community Schools of Frankfort Board of Trustees voted unanimously at Tuesday’s school board meeting to approve a resolution expressing an intent to further explore the collaborative purchase of the former Marsh grocery store building. This purchase would be in conjunction with the Clinton Central and Clinton Prairie schools to provide a Career Tech center servicing students from throughout the county.
The resolution states that Superintendent Joel McKinney is “authorized to explore the purchase of the Property and report back to the Board of School Trustees regarding the potential terms of such purchase.”
McKinney expressed cautious optimism of the project. “I’m pleased that our Board is fully behind this potential project.  Although there are still many hurdles to overcome, especially in regard to the renovation funding sources, it’s exciting that our students may have the opportunity to participate in a growing number of career pathways classes in a facility that has the support of so many stakeholders in this community.”
