The Community Schools of Frankfort announced a new partnership with Indiana University Kokomo that aims to address the growing need for qualified educators in the Frankfort community by supporting individuals pursuing their bachelor’s degree in education while they work in classified roles within the corporation.
Through the partnership, the corporation is expected to provide employment opportunities for aspiring teachers to allow them to gain valuable hands-on experience in the classroom while continuing their education toward achieving their teaching license and bachelor’s degree. The initiative is aimed to not only help alleviate the teacher shortage but also foster a strong pipeline of local talent that is committed to serving the Frankfort community by educating the next generation of leaders.
The program has been designed to create a seamless transition from student to teacher to ensure that participants are well-prepared to meet the challenges of the classroom immediately upon their graduation from IUK.
