Community to Open Warming Center This Week

After Mayor Chris McBarnes and Center Township Trustee Kevin Evans called the Emergency Meeting on January 17, 2019, those that met decided special perimeters for when the community should open a warming center. Due to extreme temperatures, the YMCA will be opening their doors on January 29 through February 2 for those in need of overnight shelter and escape from the cold from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Individuals can come to the center during the hours of operation. Should you need assistance to get to the warming shelter or find someone in need, please contact Central Dispatch at 765-654-5563. Central dispatch will assist with transportation individuals to the warming shelter and a City of Frankfort police officer will be present throughout the hours of operation. For those needing assistance out of the cold during the day, please contact the Center Township Trustee office at 765-601-4232 or stop in at 6 S. Main St.
A special thank you to the YMCA, American Red Cross, Center Township, local organizations, Community Schools of Frankfort, local churches, and the City of Frankfort for their overwhelming dedication to the community and service to those in need.
If you are an individual or you find someone in need on January 25, 26, 27, or 28. Please contact Central Dispatch at 765-654-5563 for assistance. They will get in contact with Center Township of Clinton County who will assist with your needs.
