Community Volunteers Help Prepare Local Cemeteries For Memorial Day

Adults and kids showed up at several locations to help place flags on grave sites of the past soldiers of the U.S. military. The American Legion’s take care of this duty placing and picking up of the flags, This year there were many volunteers helping with this duty.

A small group of Kirklin Hoosier 4-H members assisted Board member Jerry Shore and Pam Clements /4-H leader at three local cemeteries on Saturday May 20th, with Oak Hill Cemetery, Old Town Cemetery in Kirklin, and Scotland cemetery. They also picked up fallen limbs to help with mowing crews.

Flags were placed at Gray Cemetery and Campbell Cemetery.

A large group assisted the American Legion including Sheriff and Matron Kelly, Brandon Craven, and many others at Green Lawn and Bunnell cemeteries.

Many mowing crews were out this week working long hours.
